On Saturday night, the Warriors opened up the season with an overtime win against Muhlenberg at Revolution Ice Center. It was a hard fought battle by the Mules but the Warriors ended up with a win thanks to an overtime goal by Steve Giordano. The Warriors opened up the first period with a goal by Kevin Entwistle assisted by John Shelton and Matt Della-Calci. This would be the only goal scored in the first period. In the second period, the Mules started it off with a goal by Matt Conner only a minute and a half into the period to tie up the game. The Warriors fought back two minutes later with a goal by Andrew Nowicki on a pass from Steve Giordano. The Mules will then get a goal by Andrew Milanesi to take the lead. The game was all tied up at two goals a piece at the end of the second period. The third period really opened up the scoring for both teams with a total of six goals being scored by both. One minute and forty five seconds into the third period, the Warriors started off the scoring with a goal by Kevin Entwistle. This would give the warriors a 3-2 lead. The Mules will then answer back with two goals by Alex Lieberman and Andrew Milanesi to bring the Mules to a 4-3 lead. John Shelton would then find the back of the net to even up the game at 4 assisted by Matt Della-Calci and Kevin Entwistle. Nick D’Aloia would give the Mules a goal with only three minutes and forty-two seconds remaining in the third period. Forty-two seconds later, Nick Londino would tie the game on a pass from Dave Maziarz to bring the game to 5-5. No one would score for the next three minutes which brought the game into overtime. The Warriors would then find the game winner in overtime on the stick of Steve Giordano on the rebound from a shot by Eric Cudnohufsky. In the end, after a hard fought game by the Mules, the Warriors would end up with the win. After a big overtime victory, the Warriors and the Mules will face-off again on Friday night at 7:45 at the Rink at Lehigh Valley.
