ESU I Falls Short to Penn State 4-3Published on: October 26, 2011
Saturday afternoon, ESU I fell to Penn State Brandywine 4-3 at Revolution Ice Centre. After a hard fought battle and trying to come back after a three goal deficit, the Warriors fell short by just one goal. Chris De Iturrondo, Frank Callahan, and Sean Hogan led the way for the Warriors with a goal each. In the first period, Penn State Brandywine scored the only three goals of the period with goals from Mike McCahey, Kevin Eisenberg, and Andrew Haber. The score was 3-0 at the end of one. Penn State would start of the scoring in the second period with a goal from Francis Fourney. The Warriors would answer back a minute later on goal from Chris De Iturrondo. This would be his first goal of the season. Four minutes later, Sean Hogan would find the back of the net to bring the game back within two goals. After two periods, Penn State Brandywine would lead the Warriors 4-2. In the third period, the Warriors were faced with a two goal deficit. Frank Callahan would score with 54 seconds left in the game but this goal would not be enough as the Warriors fell to Penn State 4-3. ESU I’s next game will be on October, 29th at Revolution Ice Centre where they take on St. Vincent. The puck is set to drop at 3:15.
